Traditional and Colorful at the Hotel Monaco DC

AnneRose and Rich’s July 28^th wedding was a beautiful and vibrant combination of traditions, family and course fun.The ceremony took place at Our Lady of Mercy on Saturday afternoon. AnneRose incorporated a number of traditions to honor her Indian heritage. My personal favorite was watching every female relative bless her just before she was about to walk down the aisle. It was truly beautiful to see. Guests were then shuttled back to the Hotel Monaco DC for the party. The Paris ballroom looked gorgeous with the all the stunning details- lush centerpieces in shades of deep purples and fuchsia, soft amber lighting, bold linens and a stunning cake. I loved helping AnneRose plan a wedding full of surprise including 3 dress changes and an anniversary cake for her parents. It was their 22^nd wedding anniversary on the very same day. The dance floor was packed all night and everyone had a blast!

Hollywood Glam with a Maryland Touch

Congressional CC, June 9th set the stage for a beautiful vow-renewal ceremony and reception to celebrate the love and commitment of Caroline & Chris. The bride looked absolutely stunning in her fitted Ulla-Maija Couture gown. With the ceremony overlooking the 18th hole of the prestigious golf course, guests had quite a spectacular view. The picturesque backdrop made for great photo-ops all throughout the evening. The Winn Brothers Band packed the dance floor all night and guests enjoyed delicious food & drinks amidst the fabulous decor. Guests capped off the evening by being served milk shooters and cookies as they said their “good-bye’s.” It was a fabulous party to honor a wonderful couple!

Waterfront Summer Soiree

When we met Claire and Andy, they really needed help getting the ball rolling with their wedding which was supposed to happen in just six months. They wanted a traditional ceremony in their local Catholic church and a fun, easy going reception that was colorful and festive. Claire really wanted to stay in Old Town Alexandria but with a water view which isn’t easy to come by. We made a call to Indigo Landing restaurant and couldn’t believe our luck, they were available and it was the perfect location for them. Claire and Andy were married at St. Mary’s in Old Town Alexandria on May 26, 2012. Cocktail hour was outside, overlooking the water under a tent decorated with colorful Chinese lanterns and flowers. The restaurant was decorated with pinks, reds and oranges with a hint of blue. The couple enjoyed a duet of chicken and salmon dinner with their guests and then danced the night away! Congrats Claire and Andy!

A Garden, Colorful Wedding

Cherry Blossom Weddings and Events had the privilege of coordinating another fabulous and colorful Indian Wedding. Married overlooking the outdoor garden of Meadowlark Botanical Gardens. Payal and Mayur said their “I dos” in special Indian fashion. Sticking to tradition, Mayur greeted the bride’s family by a riding a beautiful white horse. After guests took their seats, Mayur and Payal were blest by the priest. After the ceremony, guests were asked to come inside for toasts given by friends and family of the bride and groom, and partake in a lavish Indian buffet. We absolutely love the colors and details that Indian weddings allow. Payal and Mayur took full advantage of the vibrant colors that summer brings, such as reds and purples. Beautiful custom made fans helped keep guests cool during the June outdoor ceremony. There were also the topiary place-card holders, the sweetest cake toppers, and their “guestbook” where guests asked to “leaf” their thumbprint. The cake table was decorated with fabulous family photos of past weddings. Their Indian culture was present throughout the ceremony and reception, and was beautiful to see how all the pieces came together.
