Real Weddings: Sarah & Lando

When I saw Sarah and Lando's wedding pictures I was instantly AMAZED at how ……. well…AMAZING their wedding was. The pictures are stunning, the details impeccable, the setting unbelievable and the church was gorgeous. Where to start?

I suppose mentioning first off that Sarah did not have a planners help. I told her that she needs to quit her job immediately because the next Martha Stewart has been found. (OK, I get a little too excited about weddings!)

Sarah had her dress custom made from Mary's Bridal in Annapolis and it obviously turned out great. Her 'something blue' was extra bridesmaids fabric, embroidered with the wedding date. The gentlemen were in classic tuxedo's with silk pocket squares instead of boutonnieres.

Her bridesmaids were in champagne dresses by Bill Levkoff ordered from NetBride.

The event took place in Annapolis, MD. They were married at the United States Naval Academy Chapel where Sarah and her father arrived in a convertible blue vintage Mercedes. The nuptials were 23 minutes long (a restriction by the church) and while the guests went to the reception, the bridal party took over the streets of Annapolis for some fun pictures.

They then boarded a yacht (a family friend owned it) to go to the reception which was at Sarah's parents home. The guest were enjoying cocktails when the bridal party showed up on the yacht with white balloons.

Dinner was under the tent which was rented for the event and Sarah created her layout and insisted on no round tables. Each table was a square or rectangle which allows guest to chat with more people than at a round table. Her florist was Spot Floral Design but they went above and beyond flowers. They were tasked with decorating the inside of the tent and Sarah requested lamps on the tables which they custom made. They also custom made the pink linens on the tables.

Her cake was from Charm City Cakes and inspired from a Martha Stewart cake. They dance the night away with music from a band on a black and white checkered dance floor. They had a sparkler send off and Sarah tossed her bouquet as the vintage Mercedes pulled away with the newly married couple.

But it doesn't stop there!

Sarah and Lando wanted some shots of them in D.C. so the next day, they cruised down to the Hay Adams hotel in Washington, D.C. and got back into their wedding attire. They went around the city taking fun shots and ended the photo shoot with jumping into the reflecting pool for one last shot. The photo was a success but they almost got in big trouble for going in. Don't worry — her dress was cleaned and every stain came out!
