Programs and Fans
One of the cool wedding details from my own wedding which can translate to other wedding themes is our programs. We wanted a program that reflected ‘Key West’ and our colors but we also wanted fans because the church can heat up on a sunny day — even in February. We created really cute programs that were fans and although this is not revolutionary, it’s a great way to create a functional program that doesn’t have to cost you a lot.
Find a pattern online that reflects your theme and layout the wording on two pages. This will be the front and the back. Play with the fonts, type size and colors to make it exactly how you want it. Once it is set, print out both sides on heavy paper and tape or lightly glue the front and back together and cut out the pattern. (If you use glue, make sure to leave a space at the bottom to slide in the stick for the handle)
Choose a stick for the handle. You can use a popsicle stick (Michael’s sells them by the bag) or something like an embellished chopstick. Slide it in with some elmers glue, let dry and add a ribbon and you are set.
This project can be time consuming so I recommend doing all the printing yourself, then have your bridesmaids over to help put them together. Enjoy!
