Ben & Emily – Green Woodend Wedding

After literally investigating every venue from the Eastern Shore to Leesburg and in between, Ben & Emily ended up getting married at Woodend – the place they initially fell in love with. They wanted a full day of events with a not-so-formal wedding but lots of celebrating. They decided to have a day wedding with an after party at Firefly at the Madura Hotel later that evening.

The couple was also very interested in any green elements to incorporate into their wedding. The grooms family grew the grass for the DIY centerpieces and as favors, they gave reusable bags with their wedding date on them.

They also wanted to think outside the box just a bit. We set up the ceremony in the middle of the grove with guests surrounding them instead of the traditional set up. In liu of a guestbook, Emily bought lots of Washington DC postcards that guests wrote on which will be mailed to them at a later date.

Tricia & Jeremy – La Jolla

I had the privilege of not only coordinating Tricia and Jeremy’s wedding but was also in the wedding party. A bit of a challenge but I was up for it! Tricia, my sister in law and Jeremy had their wedding and reception on the patio of the La Jolla Financial Building which overlooks the La Jolla cove in San Diego. AH-Mazing views!!!! But more than that, Tricia and Jeremy have so much love for one another that it was such a fun celebration. Colors were yellow and blue – yellow because Tricia’s father’s favorite song is 18 Yellow Roses.

The rocks pictured are how Jeremy proposed. He sent Tricia to many of her favorite spots in Sand Diego with a box awaiting her. Inside each box was a rock with a word scripted on it (Inspiration, Respect, Love) and why Jeremy felt this way about Tricia. (So romantic!!) And with the Love rock, came a stunning engagement ring! And just under a year, one of the best weddings ever!

Fabulous Colors & Guinness = True Love

Kate and Matt were married at the groom’s family church, St. Joe’s on September 26. Although the day came with rain, the bride was her usual cool and relaxed self. The guests were shuttled to the church from their hotels in DC and then back to the reception at the Decatur House in DC. The lovely staff at the historic house gave tours to the guests and the courtyard was tented and highlighted with purple lighting. The colors, purple, green and cream were displayed in vintage and antique containers that the bride’s mom found at local thrift shops. The guests dined on fabulous food from Windows catering and the groom and his men celebrated with Guinness, the groom’s favorite beer - check out his socks!

Stunning Style

The weather couldn’t have been any more gorgeous for our Oct 3rd wedding as this beautiful couple wed at St Peter’s Church on Captiol Hill. The romantic day turned to night as guests were wined & dined at the beautiful & elegant Washington Golf & Country Club. My favorite memory of this day was watching the couple share their 1^st dance as a close friend sang Midnight Train to Georgia. This couple’s wedding day was filled with beauty, old-fashioned glamour and filled with love from their families and friends. They did not want to be shown on blogs but let us show images of their stunning style – thanks so much and congrats!!
