A Chic Affair: Bridal Show Recap!

We were thrilled to participate in a bridal show last weekend called A Chic Affair. The event was hosted at the fabulous and industrial Powerhouse in Georgetown, a brand new venue for events. It was a great show and we always love a chance to speak with brides one-on-one to learn about their ideas and challenges in the wedding market. Here are a few photos of our table (yes, we chose to work with emerald green, the pantone color of the year), cakes and the fashion show! Thank you to Tony from Imijphoto Photography these great images!

A Wedding at Home: Family Vineyard

Rolling hills, grape vines and a sparkling lake set the stage for Lauren & Rick’s June 16th wedding at Lauren’s gorgeous family home in Leesburg, VA. Stone Tower Winery, set to make its public debut Spring of 2014, encompasses everything a bride could dream of. For the ceremony, white linen and floral accents draped bales of hay set on a hill looking down at the ceremony processional. Stunning large wine cellar doors outlined the bride & groom’s frame as they said their “I Do’s.” During cocktail hour in the barn, guests sipped on drinks in mason jars with navy & white stripped straws. Check out tomorrow’s post to see the amazing reception! As always, thanks to Allison & Chris Britton for the fab photos!

A Celebration Full of Tradition and Culture

An Indian wedding celebration is filled with tradition and robust colors. Jaya & Viyas’s multi-day affair at the Mandarin Oriental this April was no exception. On Friday, the first of the two wedding ceremonies honored the Groom’s South Indian heritage. It was hard to believe that this extravagant ceremony was just the beginning to an amazing weekend.

Saturday was the main event. In classic manner, Viyas arrived on horseback and was greeted by the Jaya’s family at the hotel entrance signifying joining of their two families.  The Dhol player led the groom’s procession into the garden.  The weather was perfect and the gold covered mundap shimmered in the sunlight. The traditional ceremony was filled with love and laughter as the families blessed this amazing couple.

A special thanks to our coordinator Elizabeth Leibundguth for executing this special day. Also, a special thanks to Eli Turner Studios for the photos!

Washingtonian’s Unveiled Bridal Show

We participated in the Washingtonian’s Unveiled bridal show on Sunday, January 22. It was so much fun working with our team to come up with a design concept for our booth. Basically what it came down to was we bold LOVE color and contrast! We started with having a custom linen made, a trendy crisp white with a large gray circle pattern. We then decided on different heights and textures of fuchsia flowers. We used orchids, peonies, ranunculus and roses. We then added high glass tables to showcase our published work so brides can easily see it. We frames these weddings in a vintage-style white frame. We added a seating area with white lounge furniture accented with gray pillow and framed the whole look with gray and white swaged pipe and drape. We had a great day and chatted with lots of newly engaged brides…all who seemed to appreciate our free (yet Cherry Blossom Events branded!) jewelry cleaner! Thank you to Tony from Imijination Photography and Michelle Lindsay for these images!

Thanks to our whole team for pulling this together!  It was a fun day and we met so many great brides!
