A Chic Affair: Bridal Show Recap!

We were thrilled to participate in a bridal show last weekend called A Chic Affair. The event was hosted at the fabulous and industrial Powerhouse in Georgetown, a brand new venue for events. It was a great show and we always love a chance to speak with brides one-on-one to learn about their ideas and challenges in the wedding market. Here are a few photos of our table (yes, we chose to work with emerald green, the pantone color of the year), cakes and the fashion show! Thank you to Tony from Imijphoto Photography these great images!

Laura & Ian – Love at Home

With it’s picturesque lawn and breathtaking panoramic views, this private residence was the perfect venue for Laura & Ian’s waterfront wedding. After a beautiful backyard ceremony, guests moved into a lantern-lit reception where they partied the night away (even with a brief power outage thanks to the after affects of derecho!) Laura’s style was simple yet incredibly chic. She wanted to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere for everyone to enjoy. There were so many fun touches that to this casual but detailed waterfront wedding and Carly Fuller did an amazing job capturing them all!

We are closing in on engagement season so check back for ideas from us! More wedding to come!

Stone Manor Country Club at it’s Best!

Beautiful Stone Manor Country Club provided the spectacular setting for the chic, rustic wedding of Emily and Scott.  Our beautiful bride and groom said their “I Dos” underneath the canopy of an old oak tree festooned with lanterns, ribbons, and flowers as a summer storm rumbled in the distance.  After the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres on the terrace of the 18th century manor before entering the show-stopping tent for dinner and dancing.  The tent was dripping with flowers in varying shades of orange, pink, and cream as heartfelt toasts and tears of joy wereshed for the happy couple.  We especially adored the long head tables, overflowing with flowers, candelabras, and gourds hand-painted by the mother of the groom, and the huge, backlit bar with Lucite stools for a modern touch.  We had a blast working with yet another stylish, happy couple and wish them all the best as they begin their new life together! A huge thank you to Ethan Yang for caputuring this stunning wedding!

A Wedding at Home: The Reception

Part 2! On the highest point of Stone Towers Winery’s vast landscape sat the grandiose white-poled tent for dinner and dancing. The tent sparkled with mini-lights and white Chinese lanterns. Square and rectangle farm tables were set with stunning orange, yellow and red floral centerpieces. Lemons and limes accented each of the different table arrangements which were created by Amaryllis. Lauren & Rick danced the night away with their guests and the fabulous “Winn Brothers Band.” As thesun set, lanterns and mini-lights lit up the large Oak Tree next to the tent. Lauren, Rick and their entire families were such a pleasure to work with! We look forward to more Stone Tower Winery weddings in the near future. Thanks to Allison & Chris of ABritton Photography for capturing this beautiful night.

A Wedding at Home: Family Vineyard

Rolling hills, grape vines and a sparkling lake set the stage for Lauren & Rick’s June 16th wedding at Lauren’s gorgeous family home in Leesburg, VA. Stone Tower Winery, set to make its public debut Spring of 2014, encompasses everything a bride could dream of. For the ceremony, white linen and floral accents draped bales of hay set on a hill looking down at the ceremony processional. Stunning large wine cellar doors outlined the bride & groom’s frame as they said their “I Do’s.” During cocktail hour in the barn, guests sipped on drinks in mason jars with navy & white stripped straws. Check out tomorrow’s post to see the amazing reception! As always, thanks to Allison & Chris Britton for the fab photos!
