Sean and Allie were married on October 1, 2011 at their church, Our Lady Queen of Peace in Arlington and hosted their reception at Belle Haven Country Club in Alexandria. Allie’s favorite color is green so it was no surprise that green was incorporated everywhere, from bridesmaid dresses to her wedding band to the cake. It is also reflective of their Irish heritage. For cocktail hour, guests noshed on appetizers and sipped cocktails inside while the bridal party took advantage of the lush greenery of Belle Haven for photos. Back inside, dinner was filet mignon followed by amazing wedding cake and to make sure the party was successful, Jameson shots were offered with coffee. The bridal party and guests danced the night away to the fabulous band and Sean took a moment to change into his green converse shoes and serenade Alli on the dance floor. Congratulations Allie & Sean! And thank you to Gevevieve Lieper for the photos!

David and Grace were married on the most popular date this year. 9.10.11. Grace and her bridesmaids prepped for the day at the Park Hyatt while the guys gathered at the best man’s house in Georgetown. Grace slipped on her Louboutin’s and the antique Bentley took her to meet David for a reveal and photos at Dumbarton Gardens. Once guests were seated in the church, David and Grace escorted each other down the aisle to be married, a Catholic tradition many people don’t know about. After the ceremony, it was on to the beautiful Anderson House where David and Grace changed into their traditional Korean outfits for the Paebak ceremony. Guest then were escorted for dinner outside under the clear tent. Dinner was a combination of Korean dishes and southern food, a nod to North Carolina where Grace grew up. The Winn Brothers band kicked it up for dancing and at the end of the reception, the after party was just getting started. It was hosted at Kstreet Lounge, where David is an owner, and guests continues the fun in the Alice in Wonderland themed party.
Congratulations David and Grace!
Thank you to Michelle Lindsay for the photos!

We had the pleasure and honor of co-chairing the 2011 Greater Washington National Association of Catering Executives 11th Annual Capital Style Awards Gala which was hosted at the Hotel Monaco in DC. The theme was 1940′s: Hero’s to Hollywood and we had two rooms to take each idea to it’s fullest. With the Hero’s room, we draped it in all red, hung American flags and served red, white and blue martini’s. We had our amazing silent auction (78 packages!) on the perimeter of the room with one of our favorite DJ’s, Jaime Easson dressed in military, spinning hits from the Andrew Sisters. Guests them moved to the next room for dinner and dancing. This room, Hollywood was all black and white, featuring feather and all white centerpieces, black and white lines, silver chargers and a huge frames screen, playing Casablanca all night against the black and white dance floor. The effect was stunning and so much fun. Guests dined on cobia with pumpkin oil and mushroom risotto with red, white and blue desserts.
Through the silent auction and ticket sales, we raised quite a bit of money for our charity, Operation USO.
Congrats to everyone on the NACE team and thank you for everyone who attended!
Thank you to Eli Turmer for these amazing photos!

Alice and Spencer were an amazing couple to work with. Alice was in love with a black and white 50’s elegant dinner party feel for her wedding but we also needed to incorporate chartreuse green – a favorite color of Alice’s which made it feel a touch funky and modern. Starting with her extra large stunning invitations to the funky black and white chargers, we created a beautiful and unique evening for their 190 guests. A huge thanks to Andrew from Connor Studios for capturing the day in such a beautiful way. Congrats Alice & Spencer!

Liz and Matt were married at DAR in DC on a beautiful day in May. Her colors of soft pink, peach and cream created a beautiful southern spring feel outside during the ceremony and cocktail hour. As the guests moved indoors, these same colors transformed to an elegant and stunning look with the gold linens underneath uninterrupted rows of peonies, cabbage roses and hydrangeas and various heights of candles. Back outside, the guests watched the bride and groom cut the cake then danced the night away with a mix of classic and modern hits. The Old Town Trolley took the bride and groom with their guests away for a stroll through DC as a perfect end to a perfect night. Congrats to Liz and Matt – you were amazing to work with! And many thanks to Deb Lindsey for the fab photos!
