Blue and Silver = Modern Zen…

October 26th, 2009

I met Jen & Rez about 10 months before their wedding with nothing yet planned but a style – modern zen. Jen clearly loves blue and silver and we incorporates this into the dresses, linens and up lighting. We added a few large swags, chinese lanterns and a touch of red to represent Jen’s Chinese and Rez’s Indian families. Jen walked down the aisle married in a stunning white wedding gown but changed not only into a chinese dress but also a sari throughout the night. Thanks to Moshe Zusman for the amazing photos!

Congratulations Jen & Rez!

Bobby & Rielle – One Cool, Classy Wedding

October 8th, 2009

I had the pleasure of working with Rielle and her mother on this wedding for quite a while. The ceremony was at Western Presbyterian Church in DC with the reception at the Rooftop restaurant at the Kennedy Center. The bride chose such a beautiful color combination of summer green and turquoise blue which was modern, elegant and perfect for a wedding in spring.

The bridal party got ready at the hip Palomar Hotel in Arlington and took a limo and shuttles over to the Church. The bride and her father walked down the aisle to the same Barry White song that her parents walked to and they kept in tradition of jumping the broom. Angela Stott took stunning photos in the courtyard after the ceremony while the guests started cocktail hour. The favors which doubles as place cards were filled with jelly beans – a nod to the bride’s sweet tooth. The DJ, Donald Peterson rocked the house and the celebration was a huge success. Congratulations Rielle and Bobby!

We were thrilled when The Knot called to let us know they chose one of our weddings for their next issue. We were then THRILLED when they called again as they had selected another one of our weddings. To be published and to see your company name in the credits after a lot of hard work and soooooo many weddings, well, it just feels good! Check it out and pick up the new copy.knotcover2

Whitney & Patrick

September 29th, 2009

Whitney and Patrick exchanged vows on a beautiful and unusually not-so-hot day in July in Old Town Alexandria. After the church ceremony, guests made their way back to the reception in Old Town Trolleys. Their reception was hosted at the Hotel Monaco with cocktails starting outside, moving inside the ballroom for dinner and lots of dancing!  The flowers and decor were yellow and blue – a nod to their college where they met. Congrats Whitney and Patrick!
