Style: Cosmos Classy!

I started working with Nicole and Brian for their September 22, 2007 nuptials back in December of '06. They chose the ceremony and reception venue but as busy lawyers, they needed help identifying other vendors and keep the planning on track. We got to work right away! It is amazing how fast it all happens!

The Cosmos Club's ballroom is a beautiful space with gold accenting that seems to climb the walls, fold into the crown molding and flow to the painting on the ceiling in the middle of the room. It is stunning on it's own but we wanted to bring out the accents and details while incorporating Nicole's Merlot and Ivory colors.

The overall result was a hit! Because the ceremony and reception were in the same room, we wanted to transform it to give it the WOW factor when guests came back in. Tonya from Occasional Flowers used tall trumpet vases with curly willow and white flowers around the branches with a white velvet runner to highlight the aisle. The arrangements were stunning and gave a soft feel to the old room.

Once the guests were in another room for cocktail hour, we (me and my two assistants Clare and Robert and the CC staff) got to work FAST! While the CC staff got to work on the tables, we rolled in the lighting — amber colored up lights that looked great in the room. We also had favors (small personlized wine bottles), four small flower arrangements on each table and eight votive's per table. Lots to get in and set up in an hour!

Everything went well, the room looked great and Derek Romonoff spined tunes to keep the dancers going all night. There was plenty of cake left so I had a piece and Hollin Hall continues to do a great job — it was DELISH!

Don Tompson and his assistant from DBryant Photography shot pictures all night and his wife made a slideshow at the wedding which was a huge hit! (Thanks for the images Don!) Don really fell in love with the venue and went above and beyond to get the petal toss at the end of the night.
